Hello everyone! I'm Debbie Dropcho, CoSM Senator and Vice-Chair of the Dean's Circle. I've never blogged before since I'm an old person trapped in a college student's body, and therefore completely technologically handicapped, but we'll see how it goes. This quarter has been so crazy for me, it's kind of hard to believe it's almost over. I'm taking a lot of really tough classes, so it's safe to say I've been on the verge of a nervous break down since about week 2! But as of last week, I have a new lease on life, liberty, and the pursuit of that lab-coat as I got accepted into KCMA's Physician's Assistant program (Kettering College of Medical Arts)!!! I've seriously been so chipper I'm annoying even myself. It is absolutely the best feeling in the world...to get exactly what you've been working so hard for! Not to mention a big weight has been lifted off of my shoulders, and I have suddenly found myself once again enjoying my classes without that "I must get an A" mentality. The interview itself was one week before I got my acceptance letter, and strangely not too terrifying. I think the interview being such a last minute thing for me, as I found out about the interview the day before, was actually a plus because I didn't have time to psyche myself out! If anyone has any questions or concerns about PA preparation, coursework, or the interview, please feel free to contact me! Cheers!

Congratulations for getting into PA school at KCMA!
That's awesome!
On many of the websites that list pre-requisites for PA schools, it mentions having over 500 hours of health care experience? What exactly does this include? Is volunteering enough, or should I be doing more? Thanks.
