Hey! I'm Tina!

Hey everyone! I am Tina and a senior here at Wright State. My major is Chemistry and minor is Biology. I am very excited to be graduating in June. I am currently applying to graduate schools, and will be taking the GRE soon.

As a member of the Dean's Circle, I think it is very important for all students to let their opinions be heard. This blog is a great way for you to let us know what you love/hate about the college, and we can try to fix any problems.

I am also the secretary of the Chemsitry Club, and the club has been off to a great start so far this year. We have already been involved in ChemFest at Boonshoft Museum, and we had a bowling night with students and professors. It was a blast!

I am a supplemental instruction leader for Dr. Aga's CHM 101 class. I have tutoring sessions three times a week to help students gain a better understanding of chemistry. I think it is a very beneficial opportunity students should take advantage of if supplement instruction is available for their class.

I currently do undergraduate research with Dr. Turnbull. In his lab, the other students and I work on organic synthesis, particularly with phenylsydnone. I also have an internship through SOCHE at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. Working there has been a great opportunity to work with other researchers in a lab. I also do organic synthesis there and have learned very valuable skills. I have worked with NMR, IR, and UV-VIS spectrometers. If you are a student looking for research opportunites, find a professor with your interests, or get an intership with SOCHE or another program.

If you have any questions or concerns about the college, classes, research opportunities, applying to graduate school, or anything at all, feel free to post a comment on the blog, or email me at rainey.7@wright.edu
